This year we are making donations to the Cure Alzheimer’s Fund. This is the same charity we donated to the first year that ornaments were sold for a cause. Alzheimer’s affects nearly 5.8 million Americans as of this time, and most will live with this disease for 20 years before ever showing or experiencing symptoms, with the disease being ranked the 6th leading cause of death in our country. I am sure the majority of you have dealt with this disease in family members or friends and can attest to how damaging and deteriorating it truly is. I personally watched the decline of my grandmother for years before it finally broke her down completely, and it is a heartbreaking process for the friends, family, and caregivers. Together, I hope we can raise awareness and a little money to help the research to fight and find a cure for this menace that affects a large number of people.

This years goal is to raise 1,000 dollars to send to the Cure Alzheimer’s Fund. They have been funded almost 155 million to date with 100% of all donations going to support research.
